Martabans are ceramic containers that have been made for centuries. They are hand thrown ceramics for storing food, water, oil and wine. Oftentimes these pots journeyed around Asia in ships and boats, making cross cultural journeys around the globe.

This pot has drip glaze and is most likely Chinese, Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644.

In very good condition, one very small edge chip, holds water.
