A sword stick, late 19th/early 20th century, the grip well carved in the form of a dogs head with painted nose and mouth and inset glass eyes, upon a bamboo body with horn ferrule enclosing a cross form blade indistinctly struck “NUTT”. Blade 67.5 cm, 97 cm overall.

Straight, sharpened blade of square section. White metal ring-nut, wooden, lacquered grip, with silver pommel, engraved with rinceaux and with monogram on the back. Wooden, lacquered scabbard with brass and iron foot. Total length 91.7 cm. length 70 cm.

France, One cavalry sabre Mod. 1822, marked St. Etienne, with iron scabbard. One similar, mod. 1822, with Coulaux in Klingenthal signature on the back, iron scabbard and leather sword-knot. Two sabres Mod. 1845, one with date 1861 and iron scabbard, one without scabbard. Two sabres model 1882, both with scabbard. One Coulaux in Klingethal sword with monogram ‘PS’ on the cap, iron scabbard and leather sword-knot. Two officer’s swords, one of 1830, with rooster emblem, one of about 1860 with scabbard. Length 91-109.5 cm.

Indian Khanjar Dagger, c.1900

Fine Indian Dagger Khanjar c.1900, curved double edge ‘chevron’ blade made from alternate sections of watered and plain steel, slightly raised central rib and swollen point, bright gilt copper hilt engraved with flowering foliage, pommel cap unscrews to reveal a compartment for unguents/poison etc, in its purple velvet covered sheath with pierced foliate copper gilt mounts. Fine condition. Blade 23cms.

very large and rare Datu Barong

This thick heavy fighting type measures approx 60 cm long from tip to tip. Its blade length is 40 cm long, 1 cm thick and 7.5 cm across the blade at the widest point. The large oversize pommel of Jungayan style is expertly formed and inlayed with Suassa alloys at the top. The grip section is woven and tarred cord, double wrapped and without loss or damage. The silver hilt tube is both inlaid and over-laid with suassa fittings. The blade is of the Shandigan type with clear hollow forging and very fine beveled cutting edge. Its surfaces display a very fine pattern welding with a clear Harmon like quality along the cutting edge. It is without its original sheath. A very rare and outstanding Barong from high nobility, one that remains in excellent condition for its age.
