Why do you think it is that there's so many overweight members of the medical field? Every time I'm at a hospital (which admittedly is a small sample size) I'm amazed at how poorly the staff takes care of themselves. I get that it's an intense and time consuming profession, but it seems so unhealthy.
Because it’s a super stressful job. Plus you are often so busy that you don’t have time to eat something healthy so you have to eat something quick. A five minute lunch break.
A lot of nurses smoke too, and I mean the vast majority of nurses on staff where I work are smokers. I give them a pass because if I were a nurse I probably would have jumped off the hospital roof by now.
