British Pattern 1845 Infantry Officer’s Sword, 1863
A lovely Wilkinson infantry officer’s sword dating to 1863. Unfortunately there is no officer’s name recorded in the ledger for this sword (it was sold to a retailer), but it remains a really good example of the type, by the most illustrious maker of the day. The whole sword is in very nice condition, with a bright blade, crisp etching, solid in the hilt, the brass guard in good shape and the shagreen/wire of the grip very good and complete. Even the leather washer is in good shape and secure, and the scabbard fits smoothly with the liner intact.
