British Pattern 1890 Cavalry Trooper’s Sword

A British 1890 Pattern Cavalry Trooper’s Sword to the 7th Hussars by [Robert] Mole & Son, Birmingham, the 85 cm single edge fullered steel blade with War Department markings, maker’s name and issue dates for ‘90,’99,’00,’01,’02,’03, the sheet steel bowl hilt with Maltese cross cut-out and rolled edge, the guard stamped 7H 67, with chequered leather grip scales, lacks scabbard.

This pattern would have seen use in numerous campaigns and expeditions on the North West Frontier of India, Burma, Africa, the Reconquest of the Sudan, and early on in the Second Anglo-Boer War.
