A Handkerchief Cutter

With curved single-edged blade of flattened diamond section etched ‘Handkerchief Cutter’ on a foliated scroll on one side at the forte, hilt comprising flat ovoidal brass guard with spherical terminals, stepped pommel with button, and wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, in its leather scabbard with brass chape (damaged, now reinforced along one side). 82.5 cm. blade
Handkerchief cutters were used for sword feats, often demonstrated at assaults at arms.
